The Cloud

So Tuesday David and I decided that after dinner it would be one of our movie nights. I decided that it would be best to watch 'Insidious' and yes it is a scary movie. It's not as scary as Poltergeist but a nice different twist and definitely some squealing moments on my part. Early that day there had been announced that Austin was under a Tornado Watch for most of the evening. So as we are watching our scary movie I turn my head to see an orange hint coming out of the blinds. It looked a bit weird since the sunsets on the front of our house and the orange was coming in from the back. I jumped up and peaked out of the blinds.... and I see this!

This has to be the biggest cloud I have ever seen. And it was sitting in our backyard. So what do I do? Tell David to come outside, because he had to see it for himself. We sat there for about 15 minutes, just watching this cloud pulsate, grow and move. I couldn't believe it, but there it was. So what do we do? Grab our phones and start taking pictures because we are a networking couple. We post it on facebook and twitter and before I could even upload, so was everyone else. It got so big that they even created a site for this cloud. CloudyCloudCalculator it is called and filled with 19+ pages of pictures just like this one. But lucky for you, you came to the right site. Because I got something for you that they don't got. My very own HD Video! So for you enjoyment, you can see the cloud from our own backyard!

Hope you enjoy and for the follow up, there was no storm nor tornado from this cloud near our home. So you can rest easy!

Easter!

So, as most of you know David and I are not Christian. We don't go to church or believe in what some would call a 'savior' but we do celebrate holidays with our families because they are Christian. On Saturday we had our photo shoot and I will be writing about that soon. I was so happy with everything about that, but after the shoot we packed up the car and headed back to San Antonio. We went to our Uncle Tony and Aunt Allyson's house. They were having a Easter Eve dinner and we love their company so much. We showed up a little late for dinner but not for wine hour! :) There are many things that I enjoy about being a Balentine but the love of good wine and conversation is almost a must when you call yourself a Balentine, and Saturday night was just that. We ended up staying a bit and catching up with the both of them and trading stories and laughter.
Then we decided to meet some old friends. It really is a long story so I'm going to make it short but David's best man from our wedding and my maid of honor from our wedding are now a couple. We couldn't be happier and are so excited that their paths led them this way. So we went to go hang out with them to catch up about life and just really enjoy our time together. 2 hours went by so quick and we found ourselves having to head back for bed time.

The morning of Easter we woke up, had showers and gotten ready for a fun day. We went over to my grandmother's house to see her and my relatives. Just to give you perceptive of how long it has been since I have seen my cousin Monica, she was 10 weeks pregnant last time I saw her and now she has a beautiful 8 year old daughter. Talk about a long time! But since I have never met her daughter before I thought I would do what I do best with my 'nieces' and buy her affection. I got her a 'Hello Kitty' messenger bag that included markers for her to color and decorate. And yes, I won her little heart. We decorated cupcakes, played with silly string as she chased me around the backyard and I even showed her how a 'cascarone' works.

My mom put together a egg hunt for her and since she was the only kid around, she had a blast finding every egg out there. Then she had a basket full of 'money eggs' and cascarone eggs that it was time to get the party started.
Everyone got hit with one! And might I point out, I think it's funny that my dad and David both make the same face when they are getting hit with an egg.

After a while we had to finally go since we had a birthday party to go to when we got back into Austin. We ended up finally getting home after 8 to find that our friend Sean who watched the dogs for us left two notes in our house. One said 'Stop' at the top of the stairs. It really creeped me out and I prepared for the surprise of someone jumping out at me. By the time I made it to our bedroom door there was another note that said "Hammertime.'
So there you have it, a wonderful Easter. I'm so glad that I was able to write about this and have it saved for one of those days that I look back. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Happy Zombie Day to all!

Ten on Tuesday!

Thanks again to Roots and Rings for this weeks questions.

1. How many blogs do you read every day and what are they? (I’m talking the ones you NEVER miss)
I probably read 1-2 blogs a day. I found Roots and Rings through someone I went to high school with and I have found some pretty interesting one along the way. Every blog I have on my reader list, I check out at least once a week, but hopefully one day, I can get this little blog to become a big blog. C'mon readers!

2. How many “best friends” do you have? Do you have different “besties” for different areas of your life?
Why do people have to have endless amounts of best friends? Sometimes I wonder if having multiple best friends cheapen the whole fact... but when I run down the list, I have a nice amount of my own.

The first is Mr. David Balentine. The man who knows my heart like no other. We have gone through our own experiences but he always loves me no matter what. He always is and will be there for me and I can only hope I always make him as happy as he has made me.

The second is my mother. My dad and grandmother always told me that when everything gets harder, my mom would always be there. I trust her more than anyone and she always has my best interest first. I know we didn't always get along when I was a teenager, but now as a wife I couldn't ask for anyone else to be there through everything I have gone through.

Everyone else who is my bestie or 'twinsie' you know who you are. And I love you all equally.

3. What’s your daily make up routine?
Wash Face. Moisturizer on face, neck and top of hands. Base coverage. Basic minerals powder and warmth. Light blush. 3 eyeshadow color. Under eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner on top. Base protection mascara. Black mascara. and Perfume... it really ties the whole look together.

4. What is your ideal girl’s night?
I've already had one and hoping to pull it off again soon. I hung out with my two ladies Pata and Lucy. We had the whole house to ourselves, wore pajamas. Did arts and crafts and ate junk food while we watched the best of late 90's, early 2000 teen flick movies. It was Ah- Mazing!

5. Do you keep up with your nails/toenails or are they au natural?
Every two weeks you can find me at my nail salon getting my nails did. I book an appointment, they know me by name and I will usually talk to everyone there about politics of America and Foreign News. It's a very delightful time. And I always go by myself and I love it.

6. What’s your best roommate story (assuming you had a roommate at some point in your life)?
It honestly took me a second of one that I could legally tell you about... and I actually started to type one out but can see how I could not tell that story either. So I will keep those stories to myself and you can just guess.

7. What’s your “go to” outfit that you wear more than anything else?
Jeans. I love blue jeans. Jeans with boots, tennis shoes, sandals, tank tops, whatever. So if it includes jeans then I'm down.

8. Do you have a beauty secret?
It's called money. Getting your hair done, nails done, body scrubs and smelling good costs money.

9. Did you read Seventeen magazine growing up?
I think I read it when I was 15 and then when I turned 16, I thought it was lame so I started reading Jane Magazine and Cosmo. If Lucy is reading this, I know she just shouted out 'Jane' with a fierce cry and hand to her heart. You really have to be a Jane reader to understand.

10. How did you learn to put on makeup?
I told my mom that I wanted to start wearing make-up. So she booked me an appointment with a make-up artist to teach me. I will always appreciate her for setting me up to win when it comes to my good looks.

Wicked YouTube Video Wednesday

Hey All! I'm back with some more videos for you to enjoy. And no, I did not get any requests from anyone so again these are from me finding through out the week. Hope you enjoy them!

This cowboy just had a dream and he lived his dream. And you can too.

Life in a day. I know a film maker and have had conversations with him about movies, so I think that might entitle me to know a little something about knowing a 'good preview' when I see it.

This is really cute. I love child like things that bring me back and then make me jealous because when I was a kid we didn't have such awesome stuff as this to listen to .

Aren't Hour Glasses creepy? Like how is it that they can figure out how much sand to put in there for the size of it to make sure it's an hour every time. Well, know you don't have to wonder and just by watching this interesting video, you can know. I also suggest putting it on mute and listening to Dub while it plays. It's awesome.

The Hourglass from Ikepod on Vimeo.

And this is a video of a grown man screaming like a little girl. Seriously, who is scared of an elephant!

This last one is really creepy. I just like to imagine that he recorded this himself.

I always think the world is ending.

This is a legitimate fear for me. I have talked about Zombies before and yes, I do believe that zombies are part of the end of the world as well, but the idea of the human race being taken out by it's own planet seems very plausible to me. I probably ask David once a month if he thinks the world is going to end soon. He always answers no, I think he has gotten use to my fear for this. I'm not sure how it started but it sure is a snowball effect for me to fear this 110%.
Maybe this fear started when I was in 7th grade, that is when my Geography teacher taught us about the Mayans and their belief that this world would end in 2012. Maybe it was learning more of the Jewish tradition in that it is written that the world would not exceed a certain amount of years and as of now, our time is up. Maybe it's because I was raised Catholic for my childhood and was taught to fear everything! But no matter what, I truly fear the end of the world.
So when I was driving into town one day I noticed on a long stretch of road that 3 small RV's where coming towards me in the opposite lane. They zoomed by real quick but the one thing I noticed was in pretty white cursive where the words, The End is Near. May 21, 2011. My first reaction was to laugh, mainly because I was used to the crazy walking around 6th street with their huge sign telling all the sinners they were going to burn for their indiscretions. But now they have RV's? And they are driving around the country spending their money on gas and pamphlets? I thought this had to be a joke, so when I went home I opened my laptop and searched for this thing. If you google, May 21, 2011, a bunch of things pop up. But the first and only thing about it being the end of the world is a website called WE CAN KNOW! What I got out of this and some more research about this crazy was that he was a mathmatician and was able to read the bible and put numbers together so he can predict when the world is going to end. Not only that but he has done this before! He tried to predict when the world was going to end and her convinced a bunch of people, got them in a room and waited for Jesus to show up again and they sat their standing, waiting like fools, so he decided to pick another date. Now as I write this to you , I realize how silly this really is and that it's not going to happen. But if it does I will be so pissed. Because I got so much more to do on this earth!Sure there are wild fires going on in Texas and tornadoes going on in Carolina and New York. Ok, there are earthquakes and tsunami's on the other side of the world. Yea, we might be going into a drought and one of the biggest volcanoes is being reported getting closer to blow. But the only thing that calms me down is that these things have been going on for years. I means hundreds and thousands of years, but the only difference is our sharing of information. Twitter and Facebook and Google. They keep us from talking to each other face to face. They allow information to be known in an instant. 'Hey Everyone, I just bought a coffee, I thought you should know!" Once I post that on my facebook, I'm sure everyone would think, well who cares if you bought a coffee, but at least they would know I bought a coffee and then I am given affirmation of how important I am.
So maybe the concern is not that mother earth is getting upset at us, but that we are ending our own ruling. Maybe the homosapien is going in a decline of ruling. Maybe we are ruining ourselves with these gadgets and gizmos and 'need to know everything that is happening at this moment' websites . But the only nice thing I can say about that is if the world is going to end, at least I will know about by tweet, and really, isn't that the way to go?

What I have to complain about Thursday

Maybe this is what I have to call this post, not sure, but I am just going with it. I try to write this post with the intention of pleasing my mother and grandmother. I try to make it friendly and fun, but maybe I need to be honest every once an a while. No body's life is perfect, so why should I show how perfect mine is?
Yes, I have a wonderful husband and beyond fantastic house, but we still deal with our normal husband and wife stuff. I love my parents and my in-laws but I sometimes stay distant due to hectic schedule. And even with our friends... we would love to hang out with them as much as we want but time always doesn't allow it. We live a normal life, as normal as I think should be.
So Wednesday started off as normal as I could find it, but then my mother texted me in unbelief that a cousin of mine eloped to get married. I couldnt believe it either so she asked me to check the old faithful facebook since it is now an indicator of life statuses. Sure enough, she eloped. My personal view on this is that I think it is wonderful that someone can find their true love and get married without the huff and puff of what is expected of an elaborate wedding so show your 'love'. I know my mother sees the same way, but something that internally bothers me is that when I choose to do something like that for myself my mothers family decided to dis-own me for my choices. It's something that I deal with and that I have talked about on my blog. I am happy with my life and couldnt be better from it, but I feel I need to talk about it.
Life is so short and with so many memories flying though determining whether or not they stay in your mind is not your choice. The older that you go, the more we tend to forget. Not by choice but by what our mind finds necessary. I remember growing up with a wonderful childhood. I remember having a supportive father and mother but it is when your parents can no longer shelter you from what life really is, is when you realize it for yourself.
The issue is that no one wants to talk about this. No one wants to talk about the drunk in the family, or maybe even the crazy lost Christian that has lost their way and dare I may say, the happy 20 something year old that has a child and eloped. Life is what you make it.
And I try so hard to tell you what I think without it being influenced, and it honestly is not an easy task, but I will continue to push past it and say what I feel, whether you like it or not. Because everyone has a little dark in their story... and if you don't want to read it, then skip on to the next chapter. Thanks for reading, see you next post.

Wicked YouTube Video Wednesday

So I am trying something new. I'm calling it Wicked YouTube Video Wednesday. I come across some really great video's through out the week and I think you might enjoy them too. Don't you worry, they are all work appropriate, and some you don't even need sound for, but I hope you enjoy them and I hope you come by next Wednesday for more. Let me know if you have any, I would love to post some fun stuff!

This is a little girl named Sadie. An she thinks that you can do anything. And so do I!

This is awesome and yet very interesting.

The Foo Fighters played a concert in a fan's garage. I would pay money to be in that garage, but didn't have to since they recorded it.

This is one of the best 'Best Man' speeches I have seen yet.

And last but not least, this guy is awesome. I am jealous of his mad skills.

Ten on Tuesday

A little friendly hello out to Roots and Rings, always grateful for some fun questions this week.

1. When someone asks you for a book recommendation, what is your go-to book?
Depends on the person. I'm going to assume that it's a girl because I don't think boys would like my types of books. But if you want a great book, The Reader. I don't think anything has been so powerful for me. That or any Chicken Soup for the Soul. That stuff is amazing!

2. Do you buy your books, or are you a library patron?
I wish I did the library more. But I'm a buyer of the books. David is actually just buying books off his phone with the Amazon reader application.

3. E-readers, yay or nay?
I think I want one because it just looks so boss. But really I love the hardcover book. nothing can beats a hardcover book.

4. What was your favorite book as a child?
Any of the Berenstain's Bears book. I had every single book available and it was just wonderful to grow up with their stories and know that our children will get to enjoy them as well.

5. If you could be any character in a book, who would you be?
Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind and Scarlett. She is my favorite character ever. I love how fierce she is and even though issues do come her way, she always has her head held high and has no problem telling you what is on her mind.

6. What book would you love to see turned into a movie?
The Giving Tree. Why can't that be a movie?

7. What is your all-time favorite book?
Again, Scarlett. It's better than Gone with the Wind, and it's just an amazing book.

8. How many books do you read at once?
I read one at a time. But I do collect books for me to read, right now I have 2 more books waiting for my attention.

9. What is your favorite book genre?
Love. Is that a genre? Well it should be.

10. Which Harry Potter book is the best? Or haven’t you read them at all?
I read the first one and then I gave up. Magic creeps me out in the word form.

VAY - CAY !

I have been wanting a vacation for a while. I started my job that I am at now the Monday after we moved into our house. Yes, that's right, the Monday after. I was given 2 'Paid Day Off' days once I started and I used one to clean our house for a After Thanksgiving party and for our anniversary to again, clean the house for New Years. So I haven't really used a day for myself. David and I have been talking about for a while on getting out of town and going on a small getaway to just relax. So when our schedules finally synced up we decided that the middle of April would be the perfect time to get out of town. So Friday morning I woke up at 3:45 to go to morning Yoga and headed back home to sleep some more. We woke up are 10 and got ready for the road.
We took the motorcycle out and it was about an hour and a half drive to a little place that we absolutely adore. This place is called 'The Island' and it's somewhere that David and I went in our first year of marriage. We have been planning to go there again and the time was never available. So this time we knew if we were going to go, we would do it right. We had everything planned out and I can not tell you how amazing it was to have just a couple of days. Friday we got there and re-visited one of our favorite places, Bam's Roadhouse Grill. They have some amazing stuffed burgers. And it was something that David has been looking forward to for a while. So we stopped on by, said hi to Bam and got our stuffed burger on.
We made our way to The Island and it was just as great as we remember it. We ended up getting a little big villa this time and it was great. We had a balcony looking over the courtyard and the lake. I found myself on Friday sitting in a rocking chair, drinking my favorite beer, listening to my favorite music and reading a fantastic book. I have never known of a better Friday night. Around 9 we decided to head down to the Island's own bar where they were having karaoke, one of our favorite things to do. We sang with some hilariously old retired guys and closed the bar down with them, talking honestly about technology.
We woke up the next morning to head down to the Island's spa for our couple's hot stone massage. It was a little rough for both of us but we were so happy about how relaxed we were after. We had to head back to the villa to go change so we could go have a late lunch at the Flat Creek Winery. We were lucky enough to grab a seat on the back patio and it was the best lunch I have had in a long time. David and I were in absolute bliss enjoying just an amazing time. We both enjoyed a glass of wine and after lunch we walked around the winery to walk off our tasty lunch. After enjoying our time, we headed back to the Villa and spent the rest of the night in the villa.. We stopped at Central Market on the way out to grab some yummy food that we could cook in the oven when we got there. After relaxing and enjoying our night we headed to bed and slept just in time to wake up, head out and get back into Austin before sundown.
I wish I had pictures for you, but would you believe that we had so much fun we kind of forgot to? Well, that's how it happened. But attached are some links that you can go ahead a click on to find out more about what we did. It really was the most amazing time we have had in such a long time. I would honestly suggest if you were looking for something fun to do, this is a check out. Glad to be back!

Ten on Tuesday

Well Howdy there! I know I haven't written anything since my little fancy getaway, but I will let you know how amazing that was and I will be catching you up to all the Balentine's stories soon, now it's time for Ten on Tuesday! Thanks again to Roots and Rings for the help.

1. If you work, do you drive to work or take public transportation?
Of course I drive to work! You have heard me talk about my Hemi Charger haven't you? And I also car pool with a co-worker to work. Hopefully at one point, David and I will work at the same building and we can go to work together. That would also be better than the 30 minute drive I do right now. In Austin, that is forever long.

2. How often do you get your haircut? Do you go to the same person every time?
I get my hair cut once every 2 months. Yep, and I get it colored and all the fancyness to go with it. The girl who cuts my hair is named Lola. I love her. She is perfect!

3. Do you read the newspaper? If so, a hardcopy or the online version?
I read The Daily What and listen to Shade 45 in the morning. I am able to hear about any news that is need to know. It's horrible how i get my news but it really works for me.

4. What is the best book you have read this year?
Water for Elephants. by Sara Gruene. This is the book I took out to our vacation and spent a great time just sitting, reading and relaxing.

5. What is the best movie you have seen this year?
So this year, we saw the Adjustment Bureau. It's really great, even though I fell asleep during the end of it, it wasn't the movies fault, just the fact that I get really tired and fall asleep during anything. :(

6. Do you tend to crave sweet or salty foods?
Right now, I have to have the saltiest thing available. I absolutely love love love salty!

7. Do you eat breakfast every day? If so, what do you have?
I wish I did. I pack a small snack for me to have something. I love applesauce or crackers.

8. If you celebrate Easter, what Easter treat/candy are you most looking forward to?
We celebrate Spring, but not with candy. Don't like it much. But we do bar b que! Lamb Chops! Yum!

9. How late is “sleeping in” to you?
If I am crazy tired and can't do anything else but sleep, I can sleep 12 hours. But normally I get 7-8 hours a night.

10. Where are you going on your next vacation?
If things go exactly right to our plan, we will be going to Disney World!! :D We are also crossing our fingers that we can go to Vegas in July. There is a huge conference that David wants to go to, and I just want to gamble.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that it is finally Hump Day! I have treated this whole day as if it was Thursday because tomorrow really is my Friday. I took the 8th off of work, so Hooray for a 3 day weekend!

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is my friend Ryan (I call him Ryna) offered to watch our dogs for us and protect the house while we are out of town, so that means- if you were thinking of stopping by, make sure to call first or you might be welcomed at the door with the end of a gun barrel and sound alarms going your way. Also, our house is z-wave friendly, in case you forgot to we know what happens in the house at all. times.

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that this is really the last work day I have with my class. This has been my favorite class I have ever taught and I am so proud of how well they have progress. Also it shows how well I am doing at my job.

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that I wrote my brother a letter yesterday, but decided to write him another today. I think I might even watch family guy and just write the whole episode out for him. I think that would be something that he liked.

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that HR approved for me to post a flyer out to sell my camera charger. My camera got stolen at work and I figure, hey.. if they are dumb enough to steal my camera, they might be dumb enough to buy the battery charger for that camera for me. I will let you know how that turns out.

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that the plan was to go work out after work, but I made an executive decision to meet my husband for so relaxing time with some friends at a local watering hole, I am very excited.

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is that yesterday we bought a dinning table and it will be delivered tomorrow. Oh, and we just hired a lawn service, so our house looks presentable now.

and last but not least,

What I'm Loving this Wednesday is this YouTube Video. I have been cracking up over it for the past 2 weeks, and I really have to share.

Happy Wednesday Y'all!

Ten on Tuesday

As always, thanks to Roots and Rings for being a provider of Ten on Tuesday. These questions were super fun, enjoyed them much!

1. What is your idea of a great date?
One of the best dates I have ever been on with was with some guy from Houston, that we only had one date. We met for kebab wraps and had old fashioned coca cola near the water wall in Houston. Then we went to a starbucks to chat. Then we went to have dessert and Melting Pot and went out for drinks. It was a fun night, but didn't want to hang out with him again.

2. How long does it take you to get ready to go on a date?
Depends on what type of date it is. If I really go all out, it's an all day event. I start by curling my hair early in the day. Saturday Night we went out and I started getting ready at 4 and we left the house at 9. So yea... I take a long long time, but David always likes the results.

3. What would you wear on the date?
Depends on the date. I usually see where we are going and decide what he might wear and work with that. On Saturday, I pulled out a cute white top I haven't worn in a while. I felt it gave me a sweet southern girl type of look.

4. If you are married, how often do you go on dates? If you are single, when was your last date?
We make a point to go on a date at least once a week. Sometimes we will meet after work and talk and go out to a nice dinner or a place we have been wanting to try for a while. I am very happy with our dating life as a married couple.

5. What was your worst date?
Oh. This one is a doozy. It was Valentine's Day. I was stuck in another city and couldn't leave due to lack of vehicle for the time being. I met this nice guy, he was quiet. And I get a call from him and he says "Hey, since we are both single, I was wondering if I could take you to a nice place for dinner." I said, that would be great and he told me to dress fancy. So I did. He picked me up, took me back to his place to meet his mother who seemed very attached to her lazy boy recliner and her moo moo dress. Then he took me to this fancy restaurant. He took me to the Golden Corral. On Valentine's day. Then he spend the rest of the date crying about his past relationship. It was my own personal hell.

6. Do you/Did you kiss on your first date?
I do not kiss on the first date. My first date with David was great and ended at 5 in the morning. We spent the whole night talking. But when it was time to leave he leans and with his pouty lips and I pull back. I told him that I didn't kiss on the first date and that if he wanted a kiss he would have to take me out again. He then asked me out for another date. :)

7. If married, how long before you knew he/she was the one? If single, how long before you know if the person is marriage material?
The night we met. It was a blind date set up. I showed up and I was terrified, shaky and so nervous. He knew I was there to meet him and I knew he was there to meet me, but we played coy. When he finally sat next to me to talk, I immediately calmed down. After the bar closed we went to our friends house to hang and talk. I was hooked instantly. We enjoyed talking so much and his confidence just had me hooked. It was when we discussed the topic of religion and we both were able to state that we believe in different things, but talk about it like old friends, it hit me. This guy is perfect for me. And he has been since.

8. Do you prefer day dates or night dates?
I prefer later afternoon dates. Starting on a early night so you can do some day stuff and do some night stuff and then go home, watch a movie on the biggest tv screen and cuddle.

9. How old were you when you first were allowed to date?
I don't really remember. I'm sure I shouldn't have been dating but I had friends that were boys that I called boyfriends, but nothing ever happened when I was in Junior School. My first boyfriend my parents knew was was when I was in High School. I think I was a sophomore.

10. What is the most embarrassing moment you have had on a date?
I've had a couple. I remember saying good night on one date and he was in a big suburban. I opened the door, tell him I had a great night, accidentally call him by the wrong name and then fell out of the car instead of landing on my feet. Or the time I picked him up and I got lost and ended up 30 minutes out of the city and in the wrong way. Oh, and there was the one where I only brought a $20 in case I needed to take a cab back home and he expected me to pay for the while date... that was awkward.

Evil Witchcraft Voodoo Doctor

There are a few things that I fear. There is no real reason why I should fear these things, but when I logically think about it as if someone was explaining something to me like it was the first time I heard about it I tend to be scared of logically sensible things. So that is why I am terrified of planes. I used to be okay flying and did in my childhood and growing up and going on vacations, but the older I have gotten the more I am more terrified of flying. Maybe it is because I have more to risk in my life or maybe because the way a plane flies in the air is due to the Evil Witchcraft Voodoo Doctor Airplane Pilot. This guy or girl shows up and does some voodoo ritual to start the engines of the plane and then gets it to back up, go down a runway and then fly straight up in the sky. I can only imagine him chanting to keep the plane up. Any turbulence is due to him loosing concentration of his evil witchcraft spells. Because of course, the science of a a big piece of metal flying up in the air makes absolute sense. And adding the weight of people with bags and bags of clothes and crap, it's still not easy to believe in the science of it.
I know that my argument is something that you hear from crazy conspiracy theory type of people, but I'm not like that. I am just someone who is very confused of the faith in technology. You can cross the country in a matter of hours. You can carry around a personal computer in your pocket. You can take High Definition video from a tiny little device and it is all moving faster and faster. It is scary to think what will happen when we have children and they live in the time of the future. Being a child of the late 80's I never thought television could be smaller. I never thought you could find an answer at anything at anytime, and with using it more than ever recently, I start to wonder if our society is starting to loose it's finesse. With texting and emailing, adding on top social networking, we start to miss the nice little touches in life. So to help do my part, I have decided to start writing letters and notes to friends. I think it it very important to remind people how much they are appreciated, so let me know if you would like a letter sent your way. I would be happy to send it out, of course to prevent people like the evil witchcraft voodoo doctor's from taking over.
